College Assistant Professor/Psychologist

Position Summary:
The New Mexico State University (NMSU) Autism Diagnostic Center is currently looking for an experienced Psychologist to work with pediatric clients to conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and develop integrated service plans. This position includes providing education to family/caregivers and other professionals. Advanced training and clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is required.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, integrated service plans and consultation with family members and other professionals
Educate family members and caregivers on different strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over of recommendations to community settings
Support collaboration throughout the University community
Provide supervision and guidance to Graduate Assistants working with the Autism Diagnostic Center
Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records within established deadlines
Please note that position availability is dependent on the continuation of state contract funds
Required Qualifications
PhD, PsyD, or equivalent in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an accredited institution of higher education
Eligible for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in New Mexico
Eligible to work in the United States
Candidates must successfully pass a background check by start date.
Experience administering the ADOS-2 and ADI-R
Qualified to conduct and document NM MAD ABA Stage 1 Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations and Integrated Service Plans for children with ASD and related developmental and behavioral health disorders
Have advanced training and clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of ASD and related neurodevelopment disorders, including knowledge about typical and atypical child development and experience with variability within the ASD population
Have advanced training in differential diagnosis of ASD from other developmental, psychiatric, and medical disorders
Have experience in, or knowledge of, the medically necessary use of ABA and other empirically supported intervention techniques
Preferred Qualifications (optional)
Experience with interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary diagnostic teams
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary ABA practice and/or BCBA credential
Completion of an APA accredited clinical internship
Completion of a LEND training program at a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities
Research reliability using the ADOS-2
Bilingual Spanish and English language skills
